Intern - Test Engineering

Role Summary

Internship within the MSB Test Engineering team at Micron's Singapore site. The project focuses on applying data analysis and AI techniques to identify sources of variability, predict failures, and improve equipment availability for production.

The intern will also support semiconductor test-tool hardware projects, assist engineers with design or upgrades, and contribute to preventive and predictive maintenance efforts.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship (student-level); intended for candidates enrolled in relevant engineering or science programs. No specific years of professional experience required.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities and expected deliverables:

• Analyze sources of variability and propose solutions to control variations and reduce failures.
• Develop data models, visualizations, and automated reports for predictive maintenance and equipment monitoring.
• Apply basic AI/predictive techniques to recommend machine repair or performance improvements.
• Support hardware-related test tool projects, including design assistance or upgrades to improve machine performance.
• Participate in preventive and predictive maintenance activities and tool ownership tasks.
• Work in a team environment on project management and problem-solving tasks in a high-volume manufacturing setting.

Core skills and desirable technical knowledge for candidates.

• Must-have: problem solving, data analysis, basic statistics, project management, and familiarity with datamation concepts.
• Nice-to-have: familiarity with AI tools (e.g., Copilot), Tableau, Python, SQL, and Power BI.
• Willingness to work on-site at the MSB, Singapore manufacturing facility and to participate in hands-on equipment training.

Education Requirements

Target courses: Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering, or similar engineering/science programs (student or recent graduate level). "Similar engineering/science courses" considered acceptable.
