Interconnect Hardware Engineer
Role Summary
Hardware engineer on the Interconnect Networking Product Engineering team responsible for developing and integrating production test capabilities for advanced interconnect products. The role combines hardware and software work to enable reliable, high-coverage manufacturing tests and to support bring-up and qualification.
Experience Level
Mid-level β 3+ years of related experience in electronics development or integration.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on test development, integration, and production support.
- Characterize devices and develop production test processes for advanced interconnect products.
- Design and bring up hardware test solutions for next-generation interconnect devices.
- Develop embedded software for test and control of power components and mixed-signal ICs.
- Collaborate with design, analysis, and manufacturing teams to optimize performance, yield, and test coverage.
- Develop software tools to find, debug, and resolve production and bring-up issues.
- Drive test solution improvements to reduce test time and cost and improve outgoing product quality.
- Conduct studies of product behavior across system and environmental conditions.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and attributes.
- Proven Python development experience, including control of ICs/MCUs over interfaces such as I2C.
- Experience with hardware integration and laboratory measurement equipment.
- Hands-on experience collaborating with global, cross-functional teams and strong communication skills.
- Ability to learn independently, strong motivation, and effective teamwork.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with silicon photonics, retimers, PAM4, or high-speed communication architectures.
- Familiarity with mass-production testing and qualification processes.
- Strong HW/SW debugging and analysis capabilities and system-level thinking.
Education Requirements
BSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
