Job Title

Innovative ASIC Design Engineer (RTL/Verilog)

Role Summary

Design and implement ASIC logic blocks using RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog). Work within a silicon design team to research, develop, and deliver semiconductor IP and ASIC subsystems for AMD products.

Collaborate with verification, physical design, and architecture teams to meet performance, area, and power targets in a production ASIC flow.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting does not specify exact years of experience.

Responsibilities

Primary technical responsibilities for the role include:

  • Develop RTL designs using Verilog and SystemVerilog for ASIC implementations.
  • Create and maintain verification testbenches and participate in functional verification.
  • Integrate IP blocks into larger subsystems and support design-for-test and synthesis flows.
  • Optimize logic for timing, area, and power, and work with physical design to resolve issues.
  • Produce clear design documentation and specifications; participate in design reviews.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with architecture, software, and validation teams.
  • No travel is required for this position.

Requirements

Key technical must-haves and preferred skills.

  • Proven experience with RTL design using Verilog and SystemVerilog.
  • Strong software skills in C, C++, or Python for tooling, testbenches, and validation.
  • Experience with ASIC development flows, simulation, and EDA tools.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in an inclusive team environment.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with synthesis, timing closure, static timing analysis, or low-power design techniques.
  • Familiarity with formal verification, high-level synthesis, or system-level integration.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (for example, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science) is required.
