Implementation Methodology Engineer

Role Summary

The Implementation Methodology Engineer will work on NVIDIA's VLSI team to develop, automate, and support front-end implementation methodologies (synthesis, formal-equivalence checking) and EDA flows. The role collaborates with logic and physical designers to diagnose implementation issues and deliver workflow improvements.

Responsible for building and maintaining automation and in-house tools that increase design efficiency and correctness.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Requires 5+ years of experience in logic design implementation and/or physical design implementation.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include methodology development, automation, tool support, and collaboration with design teams.

  • Develop and maintain front-end implementation methodologies (synthesis, formal equivalence checking) and associated flows.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automation and in-house tools to improve workflows.
  • Collaborate with logic and physical designers to identify and resolve implementation issues.
  • Provide support for EDA tools and perform flow debugging and optimization.
  • Document methodology updates and share best practices with teams.

Requirements

Required technical skills and experience. Education expectations are listed separately below.

  • 5+ years of experience in logic design implementation and/or physical design implementation.
  • Strong automation and scripting skills.
  • Good understanding of physical design implementation (physical synthesis, placement, routing, logic restructuring).
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills; effective interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
  • Nice-to-have: prior implementation methodology experience; proficiency in Python, Tcl, Java, and C++ scripting.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
