Job Title

IC Test Lab Specialist

Role Summary

Lead and support daily activities in an IC Test Engineering laboratory, acting as the focal point between engineering teams, lab operators, contract manufacturers, and equipment vendors. Ensure execution of ATE setups, equipment readiness, lab safety, and operational efficiency.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The role expects approximately 2–4 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor test environments.

Responsibilities

Maintain and improve laboratory operations to support engineering debug, characterization, qualification, and production tasks.

  • Lead daily ATE lab activities and supervise lab operators performing ATE setup and system-level test.
  • Coordinate and prioritize engineering setup and debug requests to meet schedules.
  • Support urgent planned and unplanned engineering and production activities.
  • Drive lab organization, cleanliness, safety, and ESD compliance.
  • Maintain inventory of consumables, spare parts, sockets, load boards, and accessories.
  • Collaborate with vendors and OSAT partners to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
  • Develop and document lab procedures, standards, and maintenance plans.

Requirements

Essential technical skills and operational experience required for immediate contribution to lab operations.

  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor test environments supporting engineering debug, characterization, and qualification.
  • Strong leadership and team-management skills; experience supervising lab operators.
  • Solid understanding of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and troubleshooting methodology.
  • Practical experience with IC testers, wafer probers, handlers, load boards, sockets, system-level test equipment, and reliability test equipment.
  • Experience with data collection and analysis tools to support yield and characterization activities.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple engineering requests and resolve vendor/equipment issues.

Education Requirements

Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a practical technical degree; equivalent practical experience in semiconductor test environments is acceptable.
