IC Test Engineer (Semiconductor Equipment Engineer)
Role Summary
Install, validate and maintain Synopsys hardware at customer sites and support product quality through collaboration with hardware engineering and manufacturing teams.
Provide technical guidance to customers, integrate boards into systems, and keep accurate records of hardware activities.
Experience Level
Mid-level - typically 5+ years of experience in test and validation engineering, hardware installation, or related roles.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include customer-site hardware work, failure analysis, and cross-team collaboration.
- Install and commission Synopsys hardware at domestic and international customer sites.
- Integrate electronic boards into chassis, mount mechanical components, and wire cabling.
- Collaborate with hardware engineering and manufacturing to analyze failures and define corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of hardware activities and provide periodic reports to management.
- Work with manufacturing teams to review production processes and ensure product quality.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers to improve product usability and adoption.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in test and validation engineering or similar hardware-focused roles.
- Proficiency with Linux environments and scripting (bash, tcsh).
- Experience installing and maintaining hardware at customer sites.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for hardware issue diagnosis.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience working with manufacturing processes and reporting.
- Familiarity with system integration and mechanical mounting of electronic boards.
