Job Title

HSIO Bench Test Engineer

Role Summary

This role is in the Post-Silicon Engineering group and focuses on developing test solutions and characterization methods for highly integrated SoCs. The engineer will define and execute test plans for high-speed interfaces, DRAM subsystems, PLLs and related mixed-signal components, and lead first-silicon bring-up and debug activities.

The position requires close collaboration with IC design, systems engineering, customer engineering, and hardware applications teams to validate electrical compliance, resolve customer issues, and analyze parametric performance across operating conditions.

Experience Level

Mid-level; 3+ years of relevant experience preferred. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include test methodology development, silicon characterization, bring-up and cross-functional debugging.

  • Define and execute characterization plans for high-speed SERDES interfaces (PCIe, USB3, UFS, DP, MIPI) and related analog/mixed-signal elements.
  • Characterize PLLs, LP-/PC-DDR subsystems, DRAM controllers, PHY IP, I/Os, clocking and delay circuits.
  • Perform first-silicon bring-up, electrical compliance validation, and debug at chip, package and board levels.
  • Analyze parametric data across operating conditions and configurations to optimize design parameters.
  • Assist in hardware design reviews and debug power integrity (PI) and signal integrity (SI) issues.
  • Use and maintain lab test setups and equipment for automated and manual measurements.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot customer issues and RMAs under time constraints.

Requirements

Core technical skills and professional behaviors required or strongly preferred.

  • Experience with high-speed test and characterization methods: eye diagrams, differential signaling, jitter analysis, and signal integrity.
  • Hands-on use of lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, TDR/VNA, and J-BERT or equivalent test gear.
  • ASIC device-level characterization and debugging experience.
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, documentation, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Nice-to-have: familiarity with SERDES TX/RX design blocks, DDR2/3/4/5 and LPDDR protocols, board design/layout considerations, and scripting for test automation (Python, C#).

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Preferred: Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering. The posting indicates 3+ years of related experience is preferred, and fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
