High-Speed I/F Engineering Manager

Role Summary

This role involves leading the High-Speed I/F subsystem design and development for automotive SoCs (R-Car series). The Engineering Manager will be responsible for technical decision-making and organizational leadership.

Senior; Must have significant experience in a technical lead role.

Responsibilities

The Engineering Manager will:

• Lead High-Speed I/F subsystem design and development for automotive SoCs.
• Define specifications and architectural direction for subsystems like PCIe, UCIe, USB, and UFS.
• Make prioritization decisions balancing performance, power, quality, schedule, and resources.
• Work with SoC architects and project management to ensure SoC optimization.
• Resolve critical technical and organizational issues during design and verification phases.
• Oversee technical coordination with third-party IP vendors.
• Manage a global development organization across Japan, India, and Vietnam.

Requirements

Essential qualifications include:

• Experience as a technical lead at the subsystem or IP level.
• Proven ability to coordinate engineers and stakeholders.
• Fluency in English; Japanese proficiency at business level.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience in a management role (Engineering Manager, Section Manager, etc.).
• Experience managing multi-member and/or multi-site teams.
• Hands-on experience in high-speed interface specifications, design, or verification.
• Experience in automotive SoC development.
