Hardware Verification Engineer
QualcommJob Title
Hardware Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Qualcomm Interconnect Technology Center (QITC) ASIC team in Guyancourt to validate and verify IP and SoC blocks. The role focuses on applying ASIC verification methods and tools to ensure high-performance, low-power silicon meets system requirements.
Collaborate with architecture, software, and hardware teams to define verification strategies, execute verification plans, and produce technical documentation.
Experience Level
Entry-level to early-career. Typical candidates have 1–3 years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related experience; preferred candidates may have 3+ years.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include verification activities across block/SoC development and cross-team collaboration.
- Define and execute verification plans for IP/block and SoC designs.
- Create architectures, specifications, logic designs, and system simulations from system-level requirements.
- Use RTL-to-GDS and analog flows (e.g., Virtuoso) and verification toolchains to validate designs.
- Evaluate synthesis, place-and-route, timing, and power implications on designs.
- Collaborate with software and hardware architects to align implementation strategies with system requirements.
- Produce clear technical documentation for EDA, IP, and ASIC projects.
- Work independently with limited supervision and influence cross-team decisions where required.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for the role.
- Experience in ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or similar projects (1–3+ years typical).
- Familiarity with architecture and design tools for digital and/or analog flows.
- Practical experience with scripting and programming for automation and verification.
- Knowledge of design verification methods and verification environments.
- Experience with EDA flows and tools (RTL-to-GDS, synthesis, P&R, timing and power analysis).
- Strong technical writing and communication skills for documentation and cross-team coordination.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multi-step verification tasks with moderate autonomy.
Education Requirements
Preferred: Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science. Minimum options listed: Bachelor's degree in Science/Engineering (plus 2+ years relevant experience), or Master’s (plus 1+ year), or PhD. Applications with equivalent practical experience will be considered.
