Hardware Validation (Test Solutions) Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the Test Solutions Engineering (TSE) team responsible for developing automated test (ATE) solutions to validate yield, performance, and reliability of custom semiconductor products. The role supports production ramps and test requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

Works with design, DFT, operations, reliability and customers to translate product and IP requirements into test programs, characterization plans, and production test margins.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Requires 5+ years of experience in semiconductor development and/or product characterization.

Responsibilities

Responsible for creating, validating and refining ATE test solutions and for characterizing product behavior across manufacturing and system conditions.

• Design detailed ATE test plans, define experiments, and perform analyses to validate yield, performance, and reliability.
• Develop test solutions using product application conditions, IP capabilities, timing margins, and process specifications.
• Characterize ATE and refine test programs based on lab results and customer system feedback.
• Use DFT to explore operating space, identify failure modes, and establish test margins to protect yields.
• Collaborate with customers, design, DFT, operations, and reliability teams to ensure test coverage and translate DFT requirements into test programs.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

• Must-have: 5+ years of experience in semiconductor development and/or product characterization.
• Must-have: Experience in hardware validation and circuit characterization; familiarity with VLSI concepts and design-for-test methodology.
• Must-have: Statistical and data analysis skills; experience working in a Linux environment.
• Must-have: Programming experience in Perl, Python, R, or similar languages for test automation and analysis.
• Must-have: Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and yield drivers.
• Nice-to-have: Strong verbal and written communication skills and proven problem-solving abilities.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field is required. Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.

Expected base pay range (USD): 129,100 - 191,030 per year. This role is eligible for bonus and equity programs.
