Graduate Talent (Standard Cell Library Design Engineer)
Role Summary
Design, verify, characterize, and deliver standard cell libraries for Intel SoCs and Intel Foundry customers using leading-edge process technologies. Work across library front‑end and back‑end tasks including modeling, automation, and validation.
Position sits in the Intel Foundry team in Penang and follows a hybrid work model.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Graduate). Suitable for recent graduates or engineers with approximately 0–3 years of experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement combinational, sequential, and power-management circuits targeting advanced process technologies.
- Perform parasitic extraction and optimize designs for power, performance, robustness, and density.
- Develop automation flows for library modeling, validation, quality checking, and reliability/performance verification.
- Characterize libraries for timing, noise, power, and variation; generate front-end and back-end models.
- Build, validate, release, and support standard cell libraries for Intel product teams and Foundry customers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and external teams and document design and validation results.

Must-have: Excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Must-have: Knowledge of digital circuit design, including CMOS combinational logic and sequential element design and layout.

Must-have: Familiarity with industry-standard EDA tool areas such as circuit simulation, cell characterization, logic synthesis, place-and-route, physical design verification, and reliability verification.

Must-have: Scripting experience for design automation (TCL, Python, Perl, csh, or similar).

Must-have: Experience with Linux environments and common Linux-based development tools.

Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience with parasitic extraction, library characterization workflows, and performance/variation optimization.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, VLSI, Microelectronics, or another closely related electrical field.
