Experience Level

Entry-level (Level - Entry or Early Career). Typical experience: 0–3 years; hiring accepts candidates with a Bachelor's plus ~1 year of relevant experience or a Master's with no required prior experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyze performance of 3D graphics applications and games on Intel GPUs (including pre-release titles).
  • Identify GPU and driver bottlenecks and implement performance optimizations in drivers and shaders.
  • Profile and debug graphics workloads using software and hardware performance tools.
  • Develop and maintain internal tools and analysis capabilities for performance engineering.
  • Collaborate across cross-functional and cross-geo teams to integrate optimizations into releases.
  • Contribute to feature development and deployment for GPU graphics on Windows platforms.

Requirements

Core technical requirements and desirable skills.

Must-have:

  • Proficiency in C++ and solid understanding of object-oriented design.
  • Experience with at least one modern 3D graphics API (DirectX, Vulkan, or OpenGL).
  • Knowledge of the 3D graphics pipeline, rendering techniques, and GPU architecture.
  • Experience debugging software and performing performance optimization and root-cause analysis.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience developing 3D graphics rendering applications, drivers, or performing GPU hardware performance analysis.
  • Shader development experience (HLSL, CUDA, LLVM, SPIR-V) and shader performance tuning.
  • Python for data analysis and tooling.
  • Familiarity with revision control and CI/CD pipelines.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or a Master's in those fields). Equivalent practical experience through work, research, or internships is acceptable.
