GPU Design Verification Engineer
Intel CorporationJob Title
GPU Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
The GPU Design Verification Engineer performs functional verification of graphics logic (3D graphics, media, display) to ensure designs meet specifications. The role works within a verification team collaborating with GPU architects, RTL designers, and physical design teams to validate microarchitecture, performance, and power goals.
Experience Level
Mid-level - typically requires 3β4+ years of silicon design or verification experience based on degree (see Education Requirements).
Responsibilities
Key day-to-day responsibilities include planning, implementing, and executing verification for GPU IP and systems.
- Perform functional verification of graphics blocks (3D, media, display) against specifications.
- Define and develop scalable, reusable IP verification plans, testbenches, and verification architecture.
- Execute verification plans, run system simulations, and analyze power, timing, and functional behavior.
- Replicate, root-cause, and debug presilicon issues; implement corrective measures.
- Collaborate with architects, RTL developers, and physical design teams to validate complex features and meet functional/performance/power targets.
- Document test plans and participate in technical reviews.
- Maintain and improve verification infrastructure and methodology.
Requirements
Must-have items are listed first; preferred skills follow.
- Must-have: Strong programming and verification skills in SystemVerilog and UVM; testbench bring-up at IP level.
- Must-have: Hands-on verification experience on ASIC, CPU, or GPU designs.
- Must-have: Test plan development at IP level with coverage closure and coverage-driven testbench development.
- Preferred: Understanding of graphics architecture and microarchitecture.
- Preferred: Experience with industry-standard frontend design and verification flows, tools, and methodology.
- Preferred: Scripting experience (shell, Perl, Python) for automation and infrastructure tasks.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering field with 4+ years of silicon design/verification experience, OR a Master's degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering field with 3+ years of silicon design/verification experience.
