Role Summary
The role involves leading the development and delivery of high-performance IP blocks for advanced technology nodes, collaborating globally to establish methodologies and support Qualcomm’s product areas.
Experience Level
Manager level with 6+ years of ASIC design or related experience.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading the end-to-end development of IP blocks and SoCs, including documentation, modeling (digital and analog), optimization and verifications.
- Delivering design-kits including behavioral and timing models for I/Os, memories, and standard cell libraries.
- Overseeing development of RTL models in Verilog/SystemVerilog; creating verification plans and validating implementations.
- Developing and automating characterization flows using scripting languages (Python, Perl, TCL).
- Driving methodology improvements with tool vendors.
- Supporting SoC teams throughout the design cycle; debugging issues.
- Collaborating across teams to meet system and customer requirements.
- Writing and reviewing technical documentation for EDA/IP/ASIC projects.
- Supervising and mentoring junior engineers and influencing organizational decisions.
Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 6+ years of ASIC design, verification, or related work experience.
- Strong knowledge of CMOS, FinFET logic, and digital circuit design optimization.
- Experience in IP characterization and design-kit delivery.
- Proficiency in Python, Perl, or TCL on UNIX/Linux platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Liberty formats and design kit views.
- Familiarity with RTL design, logic design, and verification methods.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and effective communication.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields. A Master’s or PhD is preferred with additional experience.
