Full Chip Power Integrity Engineer
Role Summary
Member of the Global Reliability Team responsible for full-chip FPGA power intent and reliability. The role focuses on power-intent verification, electrical rule checks, EM/IR closure, timing derating, aging analysis, and die/package power planning.
Collaborates with design, physical implementation, and verification teams to verify, debug, and sign off system-level reliability and power-integrity items.
Experience Level
Mid-level β requires a minimum of 2 years of circuit design experience.
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include:
- Implement and verify power intent using UPF and related methodologies.
- Perform power electrical rule checks and ERC analysis.
- Drive EM and IR closure and power-integrity sign-off.
- Apply timing derating flows, aging analysis, and reliability modeling.
- Plan die/package bump and ball power intent and placement.
- Debug system-level power and reliability issues and lead sign-off activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve reliability and power-integrity issues.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Minimum 2 years of circuit design experience focused on power or related domains.
- Familiarity with SPICE analysis.
- Proficient in scripting (Perl or Python), TCL, and Linux shells.
- Strong execution and problem-solving ability to close complex design issues.
- Good communication and presentation skills for cross-functional interaction.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with UPF, Verdi, RedHawk, power IR/EM tools, and physical design flows.
- Knowledge of power-on sequencing and power delivery planning.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (BS/MS in Electrical Engineering) required.
