FPGA Systems Development Engineer
Role Summary
Entry-level engineering role within the Aerospace, Defense and Communication business unit to develop and deploy FPGA and SoC solutions for product evaluation, test, and subsystem development. The team delivers FPGA/SoC designs used in electronic test equipment, wideband communications, and A&D subsystems.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Graduate). Appropriate for recent graduates or engineers with roughly 0β3 years of relevant FPGA/SoC experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities focus on FPGA/SoC design, verification, lab evaluation, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Design and implement SoC/FPGA logic using HDL, IP, and embedded software.
- Constrain FPGA designs and perform timing analysis.
- Perform design verification using behavioral models and RTL validation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues on FPGA designs and hardware.
- Participate in design reviews, produce documentation, presentations, and demonstrations.
- Support evaluation and test of new products in the lab and on automated test equipment (ATE).
- Work closely with digital design, product/test, and applications/marketing engineers in a cross-functional team.
Requirements

- Hands-on experience with FPGA and/or SoC programming and RTL/HDL development.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability, strong written and verbal communication skills, and presentation capability.
- Ability to work on multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and deliver results on schedule.
- Team-oriented with a bias for action and collaboration to produce high-quality outcomes.

Preferred: Experience with high-speed signaling, electronics design, embedded software, Intel/Altera or AMD/Xilinx devices and tools, gigabit transceivers, high-speed memory, and programming in C/C++, Python, or TCL.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering.
