Job Title

FPGA Engineer

Role Summary

Design and implement FPGA logic and support hardware/firmware integration for electronic systems. Work primarily with Xilinx FPGAs within a small engineering team in a rapid-paced development environment.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” requires approximately 2 or more years of electrical engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Typical duties include translating hardware designs into FPGA logic, collaborating with firmware and hardware engineers, and validating designs through testing.

  • Develop and implement FPGA designs using VHDL or Verilog.
  • Interpret circuit schematics and diagnose hardware behavior.
  • Integrate FPGA logic with firmware and microcontroller code (C).
  • Perform validation, testing, and debugging of FPGA-based systems.
  • Document designs and participate in design reviews.
  • Adapt quickly and learn new tools, workflows, and requirements in a fast-paced setting.

  • Must-have: Minimum ~2 years of electrical engineering experience; hands-on FPGA experience (Xilinx preferred); ability to read and understand circuit schematics; experience with VHDL, Verilog, or C.
  • Nice-to-have: Internship or co-op FPGA experience if limited industry experience; microcontroller development experience; prior firmware/hardware integration experience.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a rapid-paced environment.

Education Requirements

B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is expected. Other engineering degrees may be considered based on relevant experience.
