Job Title

FPGA Engineer

Role Summary

The FPGA Engineer will design, implement, validate, and deploy FPGA solutions that support ultra-low-latency trading systems. The role partners with trading and engineering teams to improve algorithmic signal generation and order execution performance across the firm.

Positions may be available in multiple business locations depending on hiring needs.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting does not state specific years of experience but expects demonstrated FPGA and RTL experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include translating system requirements into FPGA implementations and ensuring those designs meet latency, throughput, and reliability targets.

  • Partner with business and trading teams to define FPGA requirements and architecture.
  • Design and implement RTL using SystemVerilog or VHDL.
  • Perform simulation, synthesis, static timing analysis, and hardware validation.
  • Integrate FPGA designs into systems and support system-level testing and deployment.
  • Optimize logic and pipelines for ultra-low latency and high throughput.
  • Develop and maintain tool flows, scripts, and testbenches; automate validation where possible.
  • Document designs and communicate technical results to stakeholders.

Requirements

Core technical requirements and desirable skills.

  • Must-have: Expertise in SystemVerilog or VHDL; hands-on experience with RTL coding, simulation, and FPGA synthesis.
  • Must-have: Experience with hardware architecture, systems integration, and hardware validation/testing.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with static timing analysis and timing-closure practices.
  • Must-have: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with Python, C, Tcl, and bash; prior exposure to ultra-low-latency trading systems.

Education Requirements
