Role Summary

Design, implement, and validate FPGA designs and embedded software features for customer applications targeting FPGA-SoC devices. Work hands-on with development kits and hardware, and collaborate with silicon design, CAD tools, applications engineering, and product planning teams.

This role supports delivering complete customer solutions by integrating digital design, firmware, and verification workstreams.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Posting requests an experienced FPGA designer but does not specify years of experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include development, verification, and cross-team collaboration to deliver FPGA-based customer solutions.

• Implement and validate FPGA designs for customer applications.
• Develop and verify embedded software features that run on FPGA-SoC platforms.
• Work with development kits and hardware to perform bring-up and debugging.
• Create and maintain verification testbenches, simulation, and hardware tests.
• Collaborate with silicon design, CAD tools, applications engineering, and product planning teams.
• Document designs, test results, and integration steps for internal teams and customers.
• Participate in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and release activities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, practical experience, and eligibility constraints.

• Proven experience validating FPGA designs and embedded software features.
• Hands-on experience with FPGA development kits, hardware bring-up, and debugging tools.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to work across multiple engineering teams.
• Self-motivated and able to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be eligible for any required Canada export authorizations.
• Nice-to-have: experience with FPGA-SoC platforms, CAD/EDA tool flows, and customer-facing support.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science or prolonged course of study in a specialized field, or equivalent practical experience (degree field not specified).
