Job Title
FPGA Design Engineer - HDL/Verilog, Embedded Systems
Role Summary
Design, develop, and test HDL-based FPGA and CPLD solutions for embedded digital systems. Work within an engineering team to implement RTL, verification, and hardware integration for product development.
Position focuses on FPGA/SoC design workflows, verification using UVM, and board-level bring-up in a fast-paced environment.
Experience Level
Mid-level (no specific years specified)
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, verification, and hardware integration activities:
- Develop RTL in VHDL and SystemVerilog for FPGA/CPLD designs.
- Create UVM-based verification testbenches and perform functional verification.
- Integrate FPGA designs with embedded systems and peripherals; perform board bring-up and validation.
- Develop and execute test plans, debug hardware/software interactions, and resolve issues across the stack.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet design and scheduling targets.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience (concise):
- Hands-on experience with FPGA design using VHDL and/or SystemVerilog.
- Experience with UVM or similar verification methodologies and testbench development.
- Practical hardware integration and board bring-up experience; familiarity with embedded systems.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, JTAG, etc.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced engineering environment and collaborate with hardware/software teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with synthesis tools, timing closure, and FPGA vendor toolchains (e.g., Xilinx/AMD Vivado, Intel Quartus).
