Job Title
Foundry PDK / Collateral Integration Engineer (CAD/EDA)
Role Summary
Work on integration, validation, and distribution of foundry PDKs and related collateral for packaging and advanced-memory flows. The role sits in Advanced Packaging Technology Development and supports cross-functional teams from R&D through transfer to production.
Primary mission: ensure foundry deliverables are installed, configured, validated, and controlled so CAD/EDA flows operate reliably across environments.
Experience Level
Senior-level (Staff-level expected or equivalent experience). Specific years of experience not stated.
Responsibilities
Deliver and validate foundry PDKs and collateral, maintain environments, and enforce access controls.
- Coordinate secure download and delivery of foundry collateral (PDKs, IP bundles) from approved sources.
- Track delivery schedules and completeness of collateral against plans.
- Enforce NDA and access-control policies for restricted foundry data.
- Install and configure PDKs, rule decks, models, and libraries in standardized environments.
- Align toolchain versions with foundry recommendations and maintain directory structures for multi-node support.
- Execute PDK validation pipeline: unit testing (DRC/LVS/ERC/PERC, models, libraries), smoke testing of end-to-end CAD flows, and regression testing versus prior PDK releases.
- Confirm all validation checkpoints are satisfied before transferring PDKs to establishment/production teams.
Requirements
Key skills and background required or strongly implied by the role.
- Proven experience with foundry PDK installation, configuration, and validation for CAD/EDA flows.
- Hands-on knowledge of layout verification and signoff checks (DRC, LVS, ERC/PERC) and model/library validation.
- Familiarity with end-to-end CAD/EDA flow smoke and regression testing.
- Experience managing restricted collateral, enforcing NDAs, and coordinating secure access controls.
- Ability to align and manage toolchain versions and maintain reproducible environment setups for multi-node/toolfarm use.
- Strong coordination and cross-functional communication skills to track deliveries and validate readiness for transfer.
- Nice-to-have: experience with advanced packaging (e.g., HBM) or foundry interfaces for packaging flows.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
