Firmware Engineer - Verilog, Python (On-site/Hybrid)
Role Summary
Develop and maintain firmware for embedded hardware using Verilog and supporting tools. Work with hardware, software, and test teams to integrate, validate, and troubleshoot firmware at the board and system levels.
This role is based in Lexington, MA with a possible hybrid schedule and supports projects requiring secure-handling and compliance for defense customers.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include:
- Design, implement, and verify firmware in Verilog for FPGA/ASIC targets.
- Create and run simulations and testbenches to validate firmware behavior.
- Develop Python scripts and automation for testing, data analysis, and build processes.
- Support system integration, hardware bring-up, and troubleshooting of hardware/firmware issues.
- Collaborate with electrical, systems, and test engineering teams to meet requirements and schedules.
- Maintain firmware documentation, version control, and configuration management artifacts.
- Participate in design reviews, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Requirements
Key qualifications and skills.
- Active DoD Secret clearance (required).
- Approximately 5 years of relevant firmware or digital design experience.
- Proficient in Verilog for RTL design and verification.
- Experience with Python for scripting, automation, and test development.
- Familiarity with FPGA toolchains such as Xilinx ISE or equivalent design suites.
- Ability to work on-site in Lexington, MA and participate in a hybrid schedule as required.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with hardware bring-up, lab instruments, and system-level debugging.
- Familiarity with version control, CI/CD for firmware, and formal verification tools.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is specified.
