Role Summary

Develop embedded firmware and test software for optical DSP PHY products used in high-bandwidth data-center links. The team owns embedded FW, customer SDKs, lab scripts, and GUI tools and supports the product lifecycle from lab bring-up to customer release.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on firmware and test infrastructure for DSP-based optical PHYs.

  • Develop embedded C firmware to control DSP hardware.
  • Write C and Python test code, utilities, GUIs, and regression/simulation infrastructure.
  • Take features from design and review through implementation, testing, and customer release.
  • Debug complex HW/SW issues, drive root-cause analysis, and track fixes in Jira.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and validation teams during lab bring-up and field deployment.

Requirements

Key technical requirements and desirable skills.

  • Must-have: Proficiency in C and Python.
  • Must-have: Understanding of networking fundamentals (OSI model), with emphasis on PHY through data-link layers.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with Linux and source-control workflows (git); experience with issue tracking and CI tools (Jira, GitLab, Jenkins).
  • Must-have: Experience working within a software development lifecycle including code reviews and regression testing.
  • Must-have: Eligibility to access export-controlled technology; employment may be subject to export license review.
  • Nice-to-have: Embedded firmware development experience.
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of makefiles, gdb, IDEs, and bash.
  • Nice-to-have: Understanding of DSP concepts (equalizers, filters, ADC/DAC, FFE/DFE) and PAM modulation.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Computer Science, Software, Telecommunications, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
