Field Application Engineer - Tessent Design for Test (DFT)

Role Summary

Work with sales and field technical teams to define and implement technical engagements supporting sales campaigns for Siemens EDA Tessent/DFT products. Provide technical leadership, integrate tools into customer flows, and drive product adoption across customer projects.

Hybrid role based in Austin, TX supporting customers globally.

Experience Level

Mid-level — typically 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in applications, ASIC design, or comparable roles.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include customer engagement, technical enablement, and product adoption.

• Define and implement methodologies, flows, and integrations for customer environments; identify pilot projects and support tool bring-up and debugging.
• Drive adoption of products into customer projects by creating flows and infrastructure.
• Build and maintain relationships across customer organizations to assess technical and business requirements.
• Qualify technical viability of leads and collaborate with sales to develop technical sales plans.
• Share account, evaluation, competitor, and technology information with internal teams and product divisions.
• Provide technical leadership for assigned accounts and support project execution.
• Perform other reasonable tasks as required by management.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, experience, and attributes; nice-to-have items noted separately.

• 8 to 12 years of experience as an Applications Engineer, ASIC Design Engineer, or related role.
• Digital design and RTL coding experience in Verilog and/or VHDL.
• Proven Design for Test (DFT) experience for ASIC design.
• Knowledge of TCL and general programming concepts.
• Simulation and verification expertise.
• Project management experience and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with sales teams; strong problem-solving and presentation skills.
• Compliance with U.S. export control: position is subject to ITAR/EAR — must be a U.S. Person or able to obtain required export license.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with Siemens Tessent DFT products.
• Experience with diagnosis-driven yield analysis.
• Familiarity with marketing, basic sales tactics, and global customer engagements.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Computer Science (BSCS) required; Master's in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) desired.
