Role Overview
The Fellow Silicon Design Engineer will lead verification architecture and methodology for high-speed interface PHY IP designs at AMD. This role involves driving innovation through cutting-edge methodologies and ensuring quality verification outcomes across various global programs.
Experience Level
This position requires extensive experience, specifically 20+ years, in ASIC/IP verification particularly focusing on high-speed interface PHY designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the end-to-end verification architecture for interface PHY IP and ensure alignment of test strategies.
- Lead the development of modular, reusable UVM-based environments that facilitate scalable verification processes.
- Establish HW/SW co-verification flows integrating firmware with RTL for comprehensive validation.
- Implement AI-driven improvements in the verification process, including test generation and regression triage.
- Drive innovation in verification methodology and tools, continually evolving best practices for quality assurance.
- Lead cross-functional teams to ensure consistent review processes and execution of verification plans.
- Define metrics for quality assurance and enforce rigorous sign-off criteria for successful tape-outs.
- Represent AMD in industry forums, contributing to standards that reinforce the company’s leadership in verification technology.
Qualifications Needed
- Mastery of SystemVerilog/UVM and significant experience in verification methodologies.
- Deep expertise in high-speed interface PHYs such as DDR, USB, and PCIe.
- Strong background in formal verification and power-aware design checks.
- Proven track record using AI/ML for enhancements in the verification process.
- Experience in architecting HW/SW verification flows and leading global cross-site teams.
Education Requirements
A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is preferred for this position. Advanced degrees are highly regarded.
