Experienced DSP & AI Development Engineer — Hod HaSharon

Role Summary

Develop high-performance DSP software and low-level embedded solutions for communication algorithms and machine-learning inference workloads within the Modem Technologies engineering group. Work on optimized kernels, profiling, and end-to-end verification while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.

Experience Level

Mid-level — this role expects demonstrated DSP programming experience, typically 4+ years; candidates with equivalent experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, implementation, optimization, and verification of DSP software and related deliverables.

• Design and implement high-performance DSP software, including efficient kernels for communications and ML inference.
• Implement optimized, low-level solutions with attention to performance, accuracy, memory, power, and real-time constraints.
• Use profiling and analysis tools to optimize performance and resource usage.
• Develop models, code, simulations, and test environments to verify design accuracy and reliability.
• Deliver well-tested, maintainable code on project schedules and write technical documentation and feature descriptions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues during implementation and commercialization.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred skills for successful performance in the role.

Must-have:

• Proven DSP programming and development experience (assembly, SIMD/vector processing) with real-time embedded software (minimum ~4 years).
• Experience developing and using profiling/analysis tools to optimize performance, memory, and power.
• Familiarity with fixed-point arithmetic and strong software/firmware engineering background.
• Deep understanding of DSP, GPU and/or CPU architectures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, ownership, and communication skills (English).

Nice-to-have:

• Experience in digital communication systems or WWAN/modem development.
• Knowledge of machine learning and neural network graphs.
• Experience with C/C++, Python, embedded systems, or computer architecture.
• Prior wireless, semiconductor, or embedded software industry experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering field is expected (B.Sc preferred). Advanced degrees (M.Sc or Ph.D) are an advantage. Qualcomm also accepts equivalent practical experience in lieu of formal degrees per the posted minimum-qualification options.
