Role Summary
Design analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for high-speed serial communications as part of a product development team. Work spans schematic and simulation, silicon bring-up, lab characterization and support through product qualification and release.
Experience Level
Mid-level - requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant analog/high-frequency IC design experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Architect, design and simulate high-speed analog/mixed-signal blocks for serial communications.
- Deliver silicon-ready designs and support bring-up, characterization, and debug in the lab.
- Use EDA and system-level simulation tools to verify circuit performance against specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the product development and qualification cycle.
- Document design decisions and present technical results to engineering and management stakeholders.
- Travel occasionally as required for prototypes, labs, or partner sites.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred technical qualifications.
- Must-have: Minimum 5 years analog design experience of high-frequency/high-speed blocks in CMOS and/or BiCMOS technologies.
- Must-have: Demonstrated silicon success with blocks such as Gbps equalizers, CDRs, PLLs, laser drivers, transimpedance amplifiers, ADCs or DACs.
- Must-have: Solid understanding of analog and high-frequency circuit design fundamentals and proficiency with EDA design tools.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with lab equipment (real-time and sampling scopes, signal/pattern generators, spectrum analyzers, VNAs) and prototype evaluation/debug.
- Must-have: Ability to support a product through the full development and release cycle and communicate findings clearly in writing and verbally.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with electromagnetic and system-level simulators (EMX/HFSS, ADS, MATLAB) and broader system knowledge of wired or optical link Tx/Rx functions.
Education Requirements
Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) is specified. The posting also requires a minimum of 5 years of analog design experience.
