Engineering Technician (Sustaining)
Role Summary
The Sustaining Technician supports Product and Test Engineers by operating and maintaining automated test equipment (ATE) for sample testing, collecting and compiling test data, and ensuring tester and lab equipment readiness to maintain product continuity after mass production.
This role is part of the sustaining engineering team and focuses on tester operation, calibration, debugging, load board repair, and lab bench validation activities.
Experience Level
Mid-level — typically requires a minimum of 3 years' experience as a technician handling testers or in manufacturing.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include operating and maintaining production testers, supporting engineers with testing and data, and managing lab equipment.
- Support engineers with manual ATE sample testing and data collection.
- Operate testers and assist with remote debugging.
- Perform routine monthly tester calibration and maintain tester condition.
- Compile and deliver accurate test data for engineering use.
- Manage and calibrate lab equipment.
- Debug testers and perform tester load board repair.
- Support lab bench validation and related sustaining activities.
Requirements
Must-have and helpful skills for the role.
- Must-have: Minimum of 3 years' experience as a technician handling testers or in manufacturing.
- Must-have: Ability to work evening shift.
- Must-have: Verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Nice-to-have: Experience operating and maintaining ATE testers such as ETS, FLEX, 93K, Cohu, and/or SPEA.
- Nice-to-have: Experience in tester and load board repair, and load/test board soldering.
- Nice-to-have: Experience compiling data in Excel and working with lab equipment.
Education Requirements
Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), Physics, Computer, or related field.
