Engineer, SSD Validation
Role Summary
Responsible for end-to-end performance and power maturity of assigned Data Center SSD programs. Own execution quality, technical analysis, and cross-functional alignment from early firmware bring-up through customer qualification.
Work with firmware, architecture, systems, QA, and product teams to ensure performance and power targets are met for production and customer qualification phases.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on program ownership, technical debug, planning, and cross-functional leadership to deliver validated SSD performance and power metrics.
- Own end-to-end performance and power readiness for assigned SSD programs from early firmware maturity through customer qualification.
- Deliver high-quality performance and power data aligned with program goals; prepare and present program status updates.
- Perform in-depth performance analysis and root-cause debugging of firmware, state machines, and hardware interactions.
- Identify performance risks early and drive mitigations with firmware, architecture, and system teams.
- Scope and lead Product Change Request implementation related to performance and power.
- Plan and forecast infrastructure and test development needs; ensure appropriate performance test levels per program phase.
- Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights to improve efficiency and quality where appropriate.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams and participate in internal forums to align processes and execution across sites.
- Identify gaps in methods, coverage, or tooling and propose continuous improvements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and capabilities for successful execution.
- Proven experience in SSD performance and power characterization and validation.
- Hands-on experience with data analysis, workload execution, and performance debug.
- Solid understanding of firmware–hardware interactions affecting latency, bandwidth, and power.
- Ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly to internal and external partners.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and driving program-level status and deliverables.
- Baseline digital fluency and the ability to use AI-enabled tools responsibly for analysis, research, and operational tasks.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience; equivalent experience accepted.
