Role Summary
As an Engineer in Product Engineering (Product Development) within the Automotive division, you will support new product introductions (NPI), yield and cost improvement, characterization, and manufacturing readiness for automotive semiconductor products. You will work with design, test, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust product launches and sustained production performance.
Hands-on role focused on test, data analysis, and cross-functional problem solving during NPI and production.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early career β 1β3 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical support for NPI, data analysis, and cross-functional issue resolution.
- Support new product introduction activities, including test and characterization of new automotive products.
- Analyze production and qualification data to identify trends, outliers, and opportunities for yield or quality improvement.
- Collaborate with design, test, manufacturing, and applications teams to resolve issues and enhance manufacturability and reliability.
- Assist with defining test limits, validating test coverage, and monitoring product performance through the production lifecycle.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for yield, quality, or customer issues.
- Prepare technical documentation, test reports, and present findings to stakeholders.
- Maintain awareness of automotive standards and ensure compliance in product development and manufacturing processes.
- Contribute to process improvements and cost reduction initiatives.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, practical experience, and working conditions.
- 1β3 years experience in product engineering, test engineering, or a related field; automotive or semiconductor industry experience preferred.
- Knowledge of semiconductor test methodologies and product characterization.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., JMP, ADMAP).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% and work standard day shift (1st Shift).
- Experience preparing technical reports and presenting results to stakeholders.
- Nice-to-have: familiarity with automotive quality standards (AEC-Q100, ISO 26262).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a related discipline required.
