Job Title

Engineer (Architecture and Technology Group)

Role Summary

Join the Architecture and Technology Group (ATG) to develop and validate system architecture compliance software that enables consistent software behaviour across ARM-based implementations. The role focuses on building tests, automation, and validation tooling that confirm conformance to architecture standards and ease deployment across vendor platforms.

You will work with firmware and low-level OS components, coordinate with architecture and partner teams, and improve test infrastructure used for compliance across multiple system implementations.

Experience Level

Mid-level - 2+ years of relevant experience working on system or software validation, firmware, or low-level operating system development.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include developing and maintaining test software and automation to validate system implementations against architecture specifications.

  • Design, implement and run tests for systems and software using C.
  • Develop and maintain automation and test harnesses (scripting and tooling) for O/S and bare-metal validation.
  • Debug and analyze firmware, device drivers, and low-level OS issues to improve coverage and reliability.
  • Integrate and validate compliance with standards such as UEFI and ACPI across multiple platforms.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and external partners to socialize test plans and extend test infrastructure.
  • Document test cases, results, and automation workflows to support reproducible validation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required for the role, plus a concise list of desirable skills.

  • Must-have: Experience writing tests in C and strong software development skills in firmware / low-level OS areas.
  • Must-have: Experience in automation using scripting languages and building test harnesses.
  • Must-have: Excellent analytical and debugging skills for system-level issues.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with Linux device driver development.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience developing UEFI Shell applications and working with UEFI/ACPI-based validation.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience on enterprise or mobile platforms.

Education Requirements

Good university degree preferred, ideally in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication, or Computer Science; other degrees considered with relevant practical experience.
