Role Summary
Embedded Software Engineer on MCU systems working in teams located in Brno and Rožnov. The role focuses on designing and delivering production-grade embedded software in Rust and/or C for NXP MCU platforms, including driver, middleware, and system components, working close to silicon and hardware bring-up.
Experience Level
Mid-level — the posting requests 5+ years of embedded software experience; strong C and/or Rust background expected.
Responsibilities
The role is responsible for developing low-level and system software for MCU platforms and collaborating with hardware teams on product platforms.
- Develop drivers, middleware, and system components in Rust for MCU platforms (MCX, LPC, i.MX RT, Kinetis).
- Perform low-level bring-up: clocking, interrupts, memory layout, and peripherals.
- Design clean, safe, and maintainable Rust abstractions for embedded systems.
- Build async embedded applications using the Embassy framework.
- Debug hardware issues using JTAG, tracing, and lab equipment.
- Contribute to architecture and design decisions for Rust-based components.
- Collaborate closely with local hardware and software teams on real product platforms.
- Use modern tools, including AI-assisted tools, to improve productivity and focus on system design, performance, and correctness.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience required for immediate contribution; a few preferred qualifications are listed separately.
-
Must-have: 5+ years of embedded software experience with a strong background in C and/or Rust.
- Solid understanding of MCU architecture (ARM Cortex-M or similar) and low-level peripherals.
- Experience with low-level debugging and bring-up; comfortable reading schematics and lab work.
- Experience with Git and modern development workflows.
- Experience debugging on real hardware using tools such as JTAG and trace equipment.
Nice-to-have:
- Prior experience using Rust in embedded systems.
- Exposure to async programming models or RTOS concepts.
