Electro Optics Reliability Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for reliability characterization and testing of electro-optical components used in high-speed data-center communications. The role sits on the product engineering team in Yokneam and involves building and operating optical/electrical test setups, executing reliability test plans, analyzing results, and supporting device qualification for next-generation electro-optic products.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting notes ~3 years of relevant reliability testing experience is advantageous.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and execute reliability and characterization tests for electro-optical components (lasers, photodetectors, SiPh).
- Build, configure and operate test setups that include optical fibers, lasers, optics and associated electronics.
- Collect, analyze and report test data; identify failure modes and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain test procedures, calibration routines and qualification documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional product and engineering teams to support component development and qualification.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure measurement traceability and repeatability.

Must-have: Hands-on experience with characterization or reliability testing of electro-optical components or related semiconductor devices; ability to build and operate optical/electrical test setups; strong teamwork and communication skills; proficiency in English.

Nice-to-have: Familiarity with high-speed lab equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators), probe stations, optical table work, light coupling and fiber handling; knowledge of reliability modes for laser diodes, photodiodes and SiPh; programming skills in MATLAB or Python.
Education Requirements
BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related engineering/electro-optics field is required.
