Job Title

Electrical Validation Intern

Role Summary

The intern will support validation engineering for silicon products, focusing on functional, power, performance and electrical validation to ensure product readiness, reliability, and quality before launch.

Work is within a validation team in the Data Center Group (DCG); tasks include debugging, data analysis, test automation support, and development/maintenance of validation infrastructure in a hybrid work model based in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Experience Level

Entry-level (internship). This is a student position intended for early-career candidates.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities for this role include hands-on validation activities, debugging, and tooling support.

  • Support functional, power, performance and electrical validation across silicon products.
  • Assist in debugging and root-cause analysis for issues found during validation.
  • Perform data analysis on validation metrics to improve test coverage and product quality.
  • Contribute to test automation: scripting, tool enhancements, and workflow optimization.
  • Help develop, maintain and improve validation infrastructure and test environments (hardware and software).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet validation milestones and product readiness goals.
  • Learn engineering concepts through mentoring and real project exposure.

Requirements

Key must-have and preferred skills/experience. Degree and field-of-study requirements are listed under Education Requirements below.

  • Must-have: Minimum ~3 months experience with signal-integrity electronic circuit analysis and data-analysis techniques; advanced English proficiency; unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico (no visa sponsorship).
  • Must-have: Ability to work in a hybrid model based in Guadalajara and participate in assigned shift schedules.
  • Nice-to-have: Interest in analog signals, silicon validation, power/performance characterization, or postsilicon debug.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with test automation, lab equipment integration, or writing validation scripts; familiarity with oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic/protocol analyzers.
  • Nice-to-have: Exposure to Linux environments, shell scripting, hardware bring-up workflows, and dataset analysis using Python/Pandas or Excel.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with hardware validation, embedded systems, or electronics lab projects (academic or internship).
  • Administrative: If hired, candidate must provide Mexican identification numbers (NSS, RFC, CURP) as part of onboarding.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field, with at least one year remaining before graduation.
