Job Title
Electrical Engineer, Power
Role Summary
Design, develop, and integrate electrical systems and power-delivery subsystems across product and infrastructure hardware. Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, software, manufacturing, and external vendor teams to move work from prototyping through production and deployment.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically requires around 6+ years of relevant electrical design experience.
Responsibilities
The role owners electrical development for complex subsystems and contributes across the product lifecycle.
- Lead schematic design, PCB/layout reviews, and cross-functional design reviews.
- Own hardware bring-up, lab and field debugging, and validation for manufacturing and deployment.
- Design and improve power-delivery subsystems to meet performance, reliability, and compliance goals.
- Evaluate and adapt vendor reference designs to meet product requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to other engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate across mechanical, firmware, software, and manufacturing teams.
- Contribute to operational excellence, documentation, and compliance activities relevant to the team.
Requirements
Summary of must-have skills and relevant experience; preferred items listed separately.
Must-have
- 6+ years of electrical design experience with a track record of delivering/shipping high-volume products or performing research/prototyping and early-stage development.
- Demonstrated ability to design and troubleshoot complex electrical systems or subsystems.
- Proficiency creating and interpreting electrical schematics, performing PCB or panel layout work, and executing hardware bring-up and lab/field debug.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams and external vendors.
Nice-to-have
- Experience using Linux for test automation and scripting.
- Experience with low-voltage, high-current power subsystems for CPU/GPU/SoC/ASIC/FPGA and related schematic/PCB design.
- Experience in power-delivery validation, DC-DC regulator design, hot-swap circuitry, and power-management interfaces (e.g., PMBus, AVS, SVID, SVI2).
- Experience with power integrity evaluation and simulation tools (examples: SIMPLIS, Sigrity PowerDC/SI, ANSYS SIWave) and board-level correlation.
- Familiarity with NPI hardware design cycle, test automation for power validation, and power-delivery architecture from a major CPU supplier.
- Experience applying responsible, ethical AI practices and integrating AI tools to improve workflows is a plus.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience. Preferred postings mention MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Power as an advantage. (No specific certifications were required in the source posting.)
