Job Title

EDA Tools Software Engineer

Role Summary

Design, develop, test, and maintain software tools, workflows, and methodologies that enable design automation and support hardware product design, process development, and manufacturing teams. The role focuses on applying data analytics and AI/ML to automate workflows and deliver engineering and business insights.

Work with cross-functional engineering stakeholders within Intel's Central Engineering Group to produce scalable, maintainable, and reliable solutions; role is eligible for a hybrid work model based at the Penang site.

Experience Level

Mid-level — typically 2–3 years of relevant industry experience in software development, data engineering, analytics, or AI-related roles.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include developing AI-enabled tools and analytics, automating data workflows, and delivering dashboards and integrations that support engineering decisions.

• Develop and maintain software tools, automation, and data workflows for design automation and engineering analytics.
• Implement AI/ML use cases: data preparation, model integration, evaluation, and performance analysis.
• Create and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards for business and engineering analytics.
• Transform and model data into actionable insights; automate recurring analytics tasks.
• Administer, support, and enhance issue-management and ticketing systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
• Stay current with AI/ML trends, tools, and best practices and apply them to engineering problems.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

• 2–3 years of industry experience in software development, data engineering, analytics, or AI-related roles.
• Hands-on experience with AI / Machine Learning concepts, frameworks, or applied use cases.
• Strong programming and debugging skills in Python and SQL; experience in Windows and Unix/Linux environments.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, data structures, and algorithms.
• Proven ability to apply analytics or AI solutions to business or engineering problems.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with Power BI, Power Apps, and DAX.
• Experience with data modeling and modern analytics platforms.
• Familiarity with web development (HTML, JavaScript), Git, JIRA, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, Splunk, and test-driven development.
• Experience with code quality analysis, software metrics, and maintainability practices.

Education Requirements

B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent technical experience).
