Ecosystem Technical Enabling Engineer

Role Summary

This role sits in Intel's Data Center Group Technology Strategy and Ecosystem Enabling (TSEE) organization and supports Xeon server platform competitiveness by enabling IHV ecosystem partners across IO and memory technologies.

The engineer will lead technical engagement with IHV accounts, drive resolution of technical blockers to design wins, and execute ecosystem Proofs of Concept (POCs) and enabling activities for emerging standards.

Experience Level

Mid-level - typically an engineer with substantial hands-on systems and IO experience (posting requests 6+ years of relevant experience).

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include technical partnership, validation support, and POC execution to enable Xeon server design wins.

• Lead technical engagement with IHV partners across GPUs, Ethernet adapters, PCIe/CXL switches, SSDs, retimers, and CXL memory controllers.
• Work on-site with partner engineers to test, debug, and validate IO devices on Xeon server platforms.
• Plan and execute customer- and ecosystem-driven POCs to demonstrate new technology value and drive adoption.
• Collaborate with validation and firmware teams to improve test coverage and interpret test results against specifications.
• Drive customer support actions and change-control processes (CCBs) to remove technical blockers to design wins.
• Develop and execute ecosystem enabling activities for emerging standards (example: UALink).

Requirements

Must-have technical experience and work requirements; preferred items are listed separately.

• 6+ years of practical experience with IO protocols, standards, and technologies (PCIe, CXL, UALink) and server systems.
• Hands-on functional testing experience focused on current and next-generation technologies (e.g., PCIe 6/7, CXL 3/4).
• Experience with server architecture including firmware and driver stacks in rich IO configurations.
• Ability to read and apply technical specifications to validation and test results.
• Proven ability to build durable relationships with partners, customers, and peers.
• Advanced English proficiency for technical communication.
• Must have unrestricted permanent right to work in Mexico (position not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship).

Preferred (nice-to-have):

• Experience working independently and sharing findings across teams and company boundaries.
• Familiarity with protocol/network analyzers and Intel IO tooling (e.g., Intel TEE-IO).
• Linux experience, including IO-specific commands and Intel SVOS.
• Experience translating customer/ecosystem requirements into functional requirements, POCs, CCBs, and validation test cases.
• Basic coding ability, especially Python.
• Bias for action and self-driven execution.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is required (posting specifies Bachelor’s degree in EE, CE, or related field).
