DV CAD Engineer

Role Summary

As a CAD Engineer focused on RTL design verification methodology and tooling, you will partner with architecture, design, software and verification leads to develop and deploy verification infrastructure and automation used across chip development. The role spans conception through delivery and supports multiple design teams within the CPU Engineering organization.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Minimum qualifications vary by degree (see Education Requirements); the role typically expects several years of hands-on verification experience and the posting lists a preferred target of ~10 years.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing and delivering verification infrastructure, automation and tooling to accelerate RTL design verification.

  • Work with chip leads to understand design methodology and verification requirements.
  • Collaborate with leads to identify opportunities for automation and tooling across current and future designs.
  • Define, implement and maintain infrastructure capabilities to accelerate design, development and verification.
  • Develop and maintain regression systems and CI/CD workflows for verification.
  • Integrate verification flows across architecture, design, software and verification teams.

Requirements

  • Strong fundamentals in digital design verification and hands-on digital design experience.
  • Experience with simulators, VIPs, testbenches and emulators.
  • Proficient scripting for verification automation (Python, Perl) including regression systems and CI/CD.
  • Familiarity with GIT workflows, performance profiling and coverage analysis.
  • Knowledge of SoC architecture.
  • Nice-to-have: web programming (JavaScript) and database experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 6+ years of relevant engineering experience; OR Master's degree in those fields with 5+ years of relevant experience; OR PhD in those fields with 4+ years of relevant experience.
