Dry Etch Module Technical Staff- MTS/SMTS

Role Summary

Micron Technology seeks senior technical leaders in process engineering to join the Boise team, reporting to the Director of DE/WP/CMP. This role involves driving innovation, leading technical projects, defining the technical roadmap, and mentoring engineers while developing cutting-edge DRAM process solutions.

Experience Level

Senior level with minimal 10 years of experience in Dry Etch process development, preferably in DRAM or advanced memory technologies.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead development, characterization, and optimization of Dry Etch processes for advanced DRAM structures.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure process robustness and manufacturability.
  • Define and execute technical roadmaps aligned with DRAM scaling requirements and yield goals.
  • Evaluate and implement new etch technologies and configurations.
  • Mentor engineers and support a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
  • Engage with equipment vendors and external partners for co-development initiatives.
  • Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement for process-related issues.
  • Present findings to executive leadership and global teams.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications include:

  • Ph.D. or Master’s degree in related fields (Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, etc.).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Dry Etch process development.
  • Technical leadership experience in semiconductor process engineering.
  • Understanding of plasma etch mechanisms and defect mitigation.
  • Experience with advanced etch tools and process characterization techniques.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects.

Preferred skills include experience with high aspect ratio etching and familiarity with data analytics and integration challenges in sub-20nm DRAM nodes.

Education Requirements

Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
