Role Summary

The Qualcomm Memory System/Technology Team in Process & Package Solutions Group is seeking a DRAM PHY Designer. This role involves high-speed PHY and IO design for memory-centric systems across various industries such as data center and mobile computing.

Experience Level

Mid-Career, requiring a Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with 2-4 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Architect, design, and implement high-speed PHY circuits.
  • Create layouts optimizing circuit placement, signal routing, and power delivery.
  • Develop robust power delivery to the PHY design.
  • Simulate signal integrity and SNR performance with package and board models.
  • Incorporate power management features to reduce energy consumption.
  • Utilize design and simulation tools for circuit behavior analysis.
  • Develop behavioral, timing, and power models for circuit architecture choices.
  • Floorplan PHY circuits under manufacturing constraints and performance considerations.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Knowledge of timing circuits (DLL, PLL).
  • Knowledge of analog building blocks and SERDES.
  • Understanding of LPDDR, HBM, and IO interfaces.
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field with at least 4 years of ASIC design experience is required. Alternatively, candidates with a Master's and 3 years, or a Ph.D. with 2 years of relevant experience may also qualify.
