Role Summary

The Qualcomm Memory System/Technology Team within the Process & Package Solutions Group is seeking a designer focused on custom DRAM architecture for various compute systems. Responsibilities include designing bus circuits and power distribution networks, optimizing system performance metrics such as bandwidth and latency.

Experience Level

Mid-level with a requirement of a minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience based on education.

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be tasked with the following:

  • Develop and optimize circuits for high-bandwidth memory bus and PDN control.
  • Analyze signal integrity on the bus and PDN.
  • Develop and validate bus behavior for access protocols to meet performance specs.
  • Create layouts optimized for chip routability.
  • Utilize design and simulation tools for bus manufacturing readiness.
  • Develop models to guide architecture decisions.
  • Design floorplan 3D DRAM chips considering performance constraints.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Experience in memory bus design (SRAM/DRAM/Flash/ROM).
  • Knowledge of high-speed design and reliability principles.
  • Ability to assess architecture robustness with various modules.
  • Experience with Verilog/Verilog-A/Verilog-AMS modeling.
  • Proficiency in EDA tools, Matlab, and Python.
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field is required, with corresponding years of experience in ASIC design, verification, or related roles.
