Job Title
DLP Product Engineer
Role Summary
The Product Engineer will support development, evaluation, and production release of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for automotive and industrial markets. The role partners with design, applications, test, manufacturing, quality, reliability and process/package teams to characterize devices, debug failures, qualify technologies, and address manufacturing and customer issues.
Work includes bench evaluation and characterization of ICs, designing PCB test fixtures, driving failure analysis, and collaborating with global manufacturing to improve yield and product quality.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Years of experience not specified.
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include:
- Develop and support a portfolio of analog amplifiers, temperature sensors, sensor-based analog front ends and application-specific signal processing ICs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Applications, Test, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality and Reliability on new product development and production release.
- Design bench evaluation PCBs and create characterization programs for bench testing.
- Perform evaluation, debug and electrical characterization of integrated circuits to verify product and manufacturing requirements.
- Work with failure analysis teams to determine root cause of reliability and qualification failures.
- Support process and package technology development and qualification for new products.
- Partner with global manufacturing to address product quality, yield management and cost reduction for mature products, including product spins and derivatives.
Requirements
Key skills and experience:
-
Must-have: Solid understanding of analog and digital circuits, their operation and analysis.
-
Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience with lab equipment (curve tracers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network/return loss analyzers) and bench validation of op-amps, ADCs, mixed-signal and digital circuits.
- Experience designing and using bench characterization PCBs and test automation (LabVIEW/Teststand); programming in C or C++ helpful.
- Experience with integrated circuit failure analysis and qualification for production.
- Ability to analyze large characterization datasets and apply statistics to set production test limits and predict yield.
- Familiarity with productization requirements: moving designs from development to production.
- Strong communication, time management, teamwork, problem solving and ability to manage multiple projects.
Education Requirements
The posting specifies a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering as a minimum requirement and lists Master's Degree as the degree level. Field specified: Electrical Engineering. No certifications or explicit equivalent-experience language were provided.
