Division FaST Regional Development Applications Engineer

Role Summary

Join the FaST (Film and Scatterometry Technology) division to support customer adoption of optical metrology products used in semiconductor process development and production. The role focuses on demonstrating tool performance, designing characterization experiments, and collaborating with system and algorithm teams to develop data analysis workflows that enable customers to qualify and adopt new features.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include on-site customer support, demonstrations, and technical validation to drive product adoption.

  • Manage in-house and on-site customer demonstrations and head-to-head comparisons.
  • Conduct new-tool demonstrations and develop use cases to support sales and customer evaluation.
  • Design experiments to characterize tool and subcomponent performance during alpha, beta, pilot, and ramp phases.
  • Support pilot tool testing and wafer demonstrations at customer facilities.
  • Collaborate with system and algorithm/software teams to develop data analysis methods and new software/algo features.
  • Support offline/online testing for new feature verification and wafer demos for next-generation tools.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

  • Practical experience with semiconductor fabrication processes is highly preferred.
  • Strong experimental design and data-analysis skills; ability to translate measurements into actionable results.
  • Ability to collaborate with software/algorithm and systems teams to develop and validate analysis methods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with optical critical dimension (OCD) and X-ray metrology techniques.

Education Requirements

MS or higher in Physics, Optics, Electronics, Mechanics, Materials, or related technical fields. PhD new graduates are explicitly considered. (Posting indicates MS-level candidates with 0–7 years of experience are acceptable.)
