Role Summary
The director will own product vision, strategy, and roadmap for diagnostics and debug analytics across pre-silicon and post-silicon phases. You will lead cross-functional work with R&D, platform, data science, validation, and field teams to deliver diagnostic solutions that accelerate SoC development and improve yield ramp cycles.
You will be part of the Product Management Group (PMG) and act as the subject-matter expert for design-time diagnostics, DFT, silicon bring-up, and root-cause debug methodologies.
Experience Level
Level - Senior. Requires significant senior experience; posting specifies 10+ years in relevant DFT/silicon bring-up/validation or debug-oriented yield analytics roles.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include product strategy, technical requirements, and cross-team delivery for diagnostics and debug analytics.
- Lead market and competitive analysis to identify diagnostic workflow bottlenecks and opportunities.
- Define and own product vision, strategy, and roadmap for diagnostics across pre- and post-silicon phases.
- Create PRDs, use cases, technical requirements, and milestone plans for diagnostic capabilities.
- Partner with PMG, TPG, R&D, platform, data science, and field teams to prioritize and plan feature releases.
- Develop training, workflow documentation, demos, and collateral for account and product engineering teams.
- Engage with DFT engineers, silicon bring-up, validation, and debug teams to gather requirements and validate solutions.
- Collaborate on diagnostic data pipelines, correlation engines, anomaly-detection models, and root-cause scoring methods.
- Contribute to go-to-market strategy, product positioning, and technical messaging.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred technical experience, excluding stated degree requirements which are summarized below in Education Requirements.
-
Must-have: 10+ years of hands-on experience in DFT, silicon bring-up, validation, or debug-oriented yield analytics.
-
Must-have: Practical experience with diagnostic or debug tools for pre-silicon and/or post-silicon use cases.
-
Must-have: Prior product or program management experience and the ability to produce PRDs and roadmaps.
-
Must-have: Strong customer-facing communication, presentation skills, and experience collaborating with design/validation/debug teams.
-
Must-have: Experience working with data science/platform teams on analytics, correlation engines, or anomaly detection.
-
Must-have: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
-
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with yield analytics and debug platforms (examples given in source: Silicon.da, correlation engines, debug frameworks).
-
Nice-to-have: Participation in industry standards bodies (IEEE, SEMI, OCP, etc.).
Education Requirements
BS or MS in a semiconductor engineering discipline required; PhD preferred. (Degrees are explicitly listed in the source.)
