Role Summary

The Director of SOC Design will lead a team within the Custom Compute and Storage Business Unit at Marvell Technology. This role involves overseeing the design and development of complex System-on-Chip (SoC) products while collaborating closely with various stakeholders.

Experience Level

Senior level, requiring 10-15 years of related professional experience or a Master's/PhD with 5-10 years in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

The Director will be responsible for the following:

  • Leading and mentoring the SOC design team across multiple locations.
  • Architecting and designing high-quality SOCs with stakeholders.
  • Hands-on involvement with RTL coding, IP integration, and quality improvement processes.
  • Defining and managing project timelines and milestones.
  • Providing guidance in physical design aspects, including floorplanning and timing signoff.
  • Collaborating with the verification team on pre-silicon tasks.
  • Engaging with third-party vendors for customization of IPs.
  • Conducting performance and design reviews with cross-functional teams.
  • Recruiting and developing top engineering talent.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of SOC design, integration, and verification experience.
  • Strong background in managing technical teams across geographies.
  • In-depth knowledge of SOC design, including integration and security requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with RTL coding and design quality tools.
  • Knowledge of processor architecture and IO protocols like PCIe and Ethernet.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl, Python, and Tcl.
  • Understanding of the product development cycle for large SOCs.

Education Requirements

Expecting Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
