The Director of SOC Design will lead a team within the Custom Compute and Storage Business Unit at Marvell Technology. This role involves overseeing the design and development of complex System-on-Chip (SoC) products while collaborating closely with various stakeholders.
Experience Level
Senior level, requiring 10-15 years of related professional experience or a Master's/PhD with 5-10 years in a relevant field.
Responsibilities
The Director will be responsible for the following:
- Leading and mentoring the SOC design team across multiple locations.
- Architecting and designing high-quality SOCs with stakeholders.
- Hands-on involvement with RTL coding, IP integration, and quality improvement processes.
- Defining and managing project timelines and milestones.
- Providing guidance in physical design aspects, including floorplanning and timing signoff.
- Collaborating with the verification team on pre-silicon tasks.
- Engaging with third-party vendors for customization of IPs.
- Conducting performance and design reviews with cross-functional teams.
- Recruiting and developing top engineering talent.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of SOC design, integration, and verification experience.
- Strong background in managing technical teams across geographies.
- In-depth knowledge of SOC design, including integration and security requirements.
- Hands-on experience with RTL coding and design quality tools.
- Knowledge of processor architecture and IO protocols like PCIe and Ethernet.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl, Python, and Tcl.
- Understanding of the product development cycle for large SOCs.
Education Requirements
Expecting Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
