Director, Quality Assurance — Module Business
Role Summary
Lead quality for the Module business within the Performance Core Power group, owning end-to-end product assurance from design through post-launch. Drive quality standards, metrics, and processes across internal teams, module manufacturers, and key suppliers.
The role focuses on embedding a shift-left quality approach, structured problem solving, and rapid resolution of customer-impacting issues for products serving data center, AI, and computing markets.
Experience Level
Senior; requires 10+ years of experience in product or quality engineering roles with leadership responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include defining and enforcing quality practices, leading investigations, and coordinating cross-functional resolution of issues.
- Define and enforce quality standards across development, production, and post-launch phases.
- Align customer, vendor, and internal requirements to ensure consistent delivery and compliance.
- Own root-cause analysis and lead corrective and preventive actions for quality issues.
- Advance a shift-left approach by embedding quality rigor early in design and development.
- Lead cross-functional teams to rapidly contain and resolve critical quality incidents.
- Serve as primary liaison to customer QA teams and manage customer escalations.
- Manage supplier quality excursions and coordinate with module manufacturers and critical suppliers.
- Drive continuous improvement using data-driven insights and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Manage external quality audits (e.g., ISO/IATF) and ensure closure of non-conformances.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, experience, and behaviours for the role.
- 10+ years in product or quality engineering teams, including leadership and cross-functional influence.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders and customers.
- Solid understanding of new product development processes and semiconductor supply chain/production environments.
- Expertise in statistical analysis and structured problem-solving (data-driven decision making).
- Experience managing supplier excursions, customer escalations, and production issues.
- Familiarity with commercial and automotive quality standards and audit processes.
- Track record of implementing corrective/preventive actions and quality improvement initiatives.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required; Master's degree is preferred.
