Director of SoC Design Verification
Role Summary
Lead and build a new SoC design verification organization within Marvell's Custom Compute Solutions Business Unit in San Diego. Responsible for verification strategy, execution (DV, emulation, post-silicon), tooling, hiring and cross‑functional coordination to deliver customer silicon for advanced AI/XPU programs.
Foundational leadership role: establish methodology, team culture, and hiring to support Marvell’s custom SoC initiatives.
Experience Level
Senior — typically requires 10–12+ years of relevant ASIC/SoC verification experience in technical leadership or management roles.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include establishing verification strategy and leading execution across DV, emulation and post-silicon validation.
- Lead DV, emulation and post-silicon validation execution; define scope and timelines.
- Define DV methodology, verification strategies, and verification testbench architectures.
- Collaborate with architecture, design, DFT, PD, firmware and system teams for successful product delivery.
- Drive tool evaluation, selection and adoption.
- Identify and implement productivity improvements (incremental and forklift changes).
- Set goals, monitor progress, and take corrective actions to keep execution on track.
- Recruit, build, mentor and retain a high‑performance verification engineering team.
- Address continuous training and development needs of the team.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and leadership attributes.
- Deep understanding of ASIC/SoC development and verification processes.
- Proven ability to lead ASIC/SoC design verification teams and deliver production silicon.
- Strong knowledge of SoC architecture, processor cores, memory subsystems and peripheral interfaces.
- Experience with emulation and post-silicon validation practices.
- Experience defining verification testbenches and workflows; familiarity with verification tools and tool selection.
- Excellent communication, presentation and cross‑functional leadership skills.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and focused on continuous improvement.
- May require eligibility to access export‑controlled technology; candidates may be subject to export license review.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field with 12+ years of related professional experience; or Master’s degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field with 10+ years of experience.
