Director, Firmware & Product Test

Role Summary

Lead strategy, execution, and continuous improvement for firmware verification, validation, and product test for Data Center SSD products. Manage the Firmware Product and Test team based in Bengaluru and coordinate with global firmware, architecture, and product teams.

Primary mission: ensure product quality from architecture through development to production release by defining validation strategy, execution plans, metrics, and by overseeing test development, automation, and qualification readiness.

Responsibilities

Accountable for end-to-end firmware verification and product test for enterprise SSDs and for running a distributed validation organization.

  • Define and own firmware verification and product test strategy for Data Center SSD products.
  • Lead the Firmware Product and Test team in Bengaluru and align with global FPT stakeholders.
  • Establish validation plans, execution schedules, and success metrics.
  • Oversee firmware test development, validation infrastructure, automation frameworks, and failure analysis.
  • Drive qualification readiness and release criteria from requirements through production.
  • Ensure comprehensive test coverage for NVMe, security, management, reliability, performance, and customer features.
  • Promote and implement white‑box, gray‑box, and black‑box testing methodologies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across architecture, firmware design, hardware, and product teams.
  • Drive execution improvements using AI tools and automation to streamline end-to-end workflows.
