Role Summary

Broadcom is seeking a Digital Signal Processing Engineer to design digital signal processing blocks for next-generation optical data center connectivity products. This role involves significant responsibility and collaboration across teams.

Experience Level

Senior level; 6+ years of experience with MS or 3+ years with PhD in relevant fields.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include:

  • Designing DSP blocks for optical data center products.
  • Translating architectures into Verilog code for logic synthesis.
  • Utilizing tools such as Matlab, Simulink, and various front-end tools.
  • Conducting synthesis, CDC, and static timing analysis.
  • Writing DFT friendly RTL with a good understanding of scan concepts.

Requirements

Required qualifications include:

  • Master's or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • 6+ years or 3+ years of experience in DSP for high-speed data networks.
  • Deep understanding of optical and electrical interconnect architectures.
  • Experience with signal processing algorithms, high-speed ADC, and DFE.
  • Proficiency in Verilog-HDL, System Verilog coding, and familiarity with NCVerilog.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is required; PhD may substitute for some experience.
