Job Title
Digital IC Design & Firmware Engineer β Precision ADC
Role Summary
Join the Precision ADC team to develop digital logic and embedded firmware for high-resolution delta-sigma ADC products. The role spans RTL implementation through low-level C firmware on production silicon and requires collaboration with analog designers, verification engineers, and applications teams.
Work focuses on digital decimation filters, calibration logic, on-chip state machines, serial interface blocks, and production embedded firmware to validate end-to-end device behavior.
Experience Level
Entry-level (2+ years of relevant experience required).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design and implement digital logic (decimation filters, calibration, FSMs) in RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog).
- Develop and maintain embedded C firmware and drivers for mixed-signal ADC devices.
- Define and implement register maps and on-chip interfaces; validate hardware/firmware interactions.
- Perform system-level validation from bit-accurate RTL through silicon measurements.
- Collaborate with analog designers, verification engineers, and applications teams to debug and deliver production silicon.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 2+ years of relevant experience in digital design, embedded firmware, or both.
- Proficiency in C for embedded or bare-metal environments.
- Familiarity with RTL design using Verilog or SystemVerilog.
- Solid understanding of digital logic design fundamentals and synchronous design practices.
- Systematic problem-solving approach and ability to debug hardware/firmware interactions.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience writing embedded C drivers or evaluation firmware for mixed-signal devices.
- Hands-on RTL design experience (combinational/sequential logic, FSMs).
- Familiarity with serial protocols used in precision ADCs (SPI, I2C, UART).
- Exposure to delta-sigma ADC architecture, digital filtering (sinc/decimation), or data converter fundamentals.
- Experience with simulation/synthesis tools (ModelSim, Xcelium, VCS) and scripting (Python).
- Familiarity with functional safety standards and related design practices is a plus.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills.
Education Requirements
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required.
